Live French Roulette Rules

French Roulette is played on the standard European wheel, which has 37 pockets– 0 (Green),1-36 (divided between Red and Black).

Players can bet on a wide number of different options. See them all below and see the bottom section for odds and winnings.

French Roulette bets:

Plein (Straight-up Bet)

A single number bet. The chips are placed entirely in the middle of a number square (including 0) on the Roulette table. The maximum bet amount for this wager is indicated in the game window.

Rouge/Noir (Red/Black Bet)

A bet on the outcome of either red or black. The chips are placed on the red or black diamond on the Roulette table. If the selected colour is hit, the payout is 1:1. If the outcome is 0, you get half your bet back. This bet option has minimum and maximum limits that are not derived from the Straight-up bet and can be found in the Limits panel. (Please also see below the La Partage Rule.)

Cheval (Split Bet)

A bet on two neighbouring numbers, either on the vertical or the horizontal direction. The chips are placed on the line that divides the two numbers. The maximum bet amount for this wager is 2 x the Plein Max bet.

Transversale Pleine (Street Bet)

A bet on three numbers on a single vertical line (a street). The chips are placed on the upper edge of the board, at the end of the corresponding street. A bet on three numbers 0, 1 and 2 or 0, 2 and 3 is a special street bet. The chips are placed on the T-section where the three numbers meet. The maximum bet amount for this wager is 3 x the Plein Max bet.

Carré (Corner Bet)

A bet on four numbers. The chips are placed at the cross where the four numbers meet. The maximum bet amount for this wager is 4 x the Plein Max bet.

Transversale de Quatre (Four Bet)

A bet on the numbers 0, 1, 2, and 3. The chips are placed on the upper edge of the board, at the end of the line between 0 and the first row. The maximum bet amount for this wager is 4 x the Plein Max bet.

Transversale Simple (Line Bet)

A bet on six numbers (two neighbouring streets). The chips are placed on the upper edge of the Roulette table, at the cross where the two streets meet. The maximum bet amount for this wager is 6 x the Plein Max bet.

Colonne (Column Bet)

A bet on all the twelve numbers on any of the three horizontal lines. The chips are placed to the right side of the Roulette table, in one of the three unlabelled boxes. If one of the numbers in the selected column is hit, the payout is 2:1 – 0 is a losing number. This bet option has minimum and maximum limits that are not derived from the Straight-up bet and can be found in the Limits panel.

Douzaine (Dozen Bet)

A bet on the first (1-12), second (13-24), or third group (25-36) of 12 numbers. The chips are placed in one of the three boxes marked ‘P12’, ‘M12’, or ‘D12’. If one of the selected 12 numbers is hit, the payout is 2:1 – 0 is a losing number. This bet option has minimum and maximum limits that are not derived from the Straight-up bet and can be found in the Limits panel.

Pair/Impair (Even/Odd Bet)

A bet on the outcome of either an even or an odd number. The chips are placed on ‘PAIR (Even)’ or ‘IMPAIR (Odd)’ on the Roulette table. If the selected outcome is hit, the payout is 1:1. If the outcome is 0, you get half your bet back. This bet option has minimum and maximum limits that are not derived from the Straight-up bet and can be found in the Limits panel. Manque (1-18)/Passe (19-36) (Low/High Bet)

A bet on whether the outcome of the next spin will be low (numbers 1 to 18) or high (numbers 19 to 36). The chips are placed on "MANQUE (1-18)" or "PASSE (19-36)". If the selected outcome is hit, the payout is 1:1. If the outcome is 0, you get half your bet back. This bet option has minimum and maximum limits that are not derived from the Straight-up bet and can be found in the Limits panel. (Please also see the La Partage Rule.)

La Partage Rule

The game uses the La Partage rule. You lose only half of your even-money bets when the result is 0.

Winnings for Neighbour Bets

The winning number always pays 35:1. The return, however, depends on the number of chips involved in the bet. If, for example, the bet is placed on five consecutive numbers 11-30-8-23-10, it involves five chips. If one of the numbers is hit, the return is 35 + 1 - 5 = 31 chips.
